Can I install a GFCI outlet myself safely and correctly?
You can install a GFCI yourself if you’re experienced and follow safety steps, but using a licensed electrician is the safest path. A typical GFCI install takes about 30 minutes per outlet. We turn off the power, remove the old outlet, and wire in the new GFCI. Kitchens, bathrooms, garages, outdoor areas, and other wet locations should have GFCIs.
