What should I do if my water heater is leaking from the bottom?

Shut off the cold-water supply to the heater and turn off power (breaker) or gas, then call for service. A bottom leak often means a failing tank, but our certified techs will diagnose and advise repair vs. replacement with a free estimate. We offer 24/7 emergency water-heater service and can haul away the old unit after replacement. We serve San Diego and Chula Vista.

Quick checks:

  • Turn off water and power/gas.
  • Place a pan/towel to control water.
  • Note where the drip starts (drain valve, pan, or tank seam).
