How often does electrical wiring need to be checked for safety?

Electrical wiring should be checked during a whole-home electrical safety inspection every 3–5 years. Homes over 40 years old should be inspected more often. During an inspection, we check the main panel and grounding, test GFCI/AFCI-protected outlets, verify smoke and CO detectors, and look for damaged fixtures or overloaded circuits. Plan an inspection in Austin, Georgetown, or Round Rock before adding an EV charger; we perform panel load calculations and recommend upgrades if needed.
