How often does electrical wiring need to be checked for safety?
Most homes should have electrical wiring checked every 3–5 years if the house is newer and has no known issues. Homes over 40 years old should be inspected every 1–3 years. In areas like Melissa and McKinney, our whole-home inspection covers panels, breakers, wiring, grounding, outlets, switches, and GFCI/AFCI safety tests. Check sooner if you notice:
- Frequent breaker tripping
- Burning smells or hot outlets
- Renovations or new large appliances
