Can I install a ceiling fan myself without existing wiring?

You can, but without existing wiring a ceiling fan install becomes full electrical work that most homeowners shouldn’t DIY. Our licensed electricians install a fan-rated box anchored to solid framing, run wiring and switching as needed, connect the fan, and balance the blades. Standard light boxes aren’t rated for a fan’s torque and vibration. Installation typically takes 1–2 hours per fan, but wiring scope varies. A technician will confirm costs and timing on site. We serve Carrollton and Plano.

  • Keep blades 8 inches below the ceiling, 8–9 feet above the floor, and 18 inches from walls.
  • Do not install a fan directly above a bed. <br/>
